Lists
In some circles, I am known as the List Queen.
I have lists for everything. Scheduling, groceries, house cleaning, trip items, camping,...my list of lists go on and on. My favorite list is the list I have to keep track of all the lists I have!
I think in lists. The first thing that crosses my mind when I swing my legs out of bed, is to list what I have to do today. Somehow, that makes it much less daunting.
Since I'm not nearly as insanely busy as I used to be, my number lists have decreased dramatically. Now, instead of being housed in a tabbed binder, they are kept in a spiral notebook.
So here are my lists:
Daily to do:
Since I am working toward having a routine cleaning my home, this one is becoming easier. I kind of have a basic list on my computer (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc). I have these saved as a Word template. When I have something different to add to that list, I just add it to the bottom. I print this list before I go to bed, and it's waiting in my printer for me first thing in the morning. Today's list, for example, says: No walking club, take boys to school LATE. Make bed. Clean bathroom sinks. Clean kitchen. Finish washing CLOTHES. Make bed. Vacuum. Dust. Grocery shopping. Walgreens. Mail. School for parties. Dinner. Gifts.
Place lists:
When I go to a place, I often need a list of what is to be accomplished there. For example, today's list has grocery shopping, Walgreens, mail, and school parties. So, I have a magnetic backed grocery list on my fridge that I just rip and take with me when I go to the store, along with any coupons I've clipped. I have a Walgreens list in my spiral. I have the boxes and envelopes to take to the post office. These are piled in a tote bag on my buffet, with a list inside, to double check that I haven't forgotten anything. The same with the school party list. I am in charge of the crafts in Mikey's class, so I have those in a bag next to the door, with a double check list. Because of that list, I realized I had to go to Walgreens to get the heart stickers!
I plan on tweaking my lists, and possibly listing them here for download someday, in case they can help you, too.
