Grocery shopping
One of my heroes is The Bargain Shopper Lady. She really helps me keep my expenses under control, and I daily check her website to see where there are bargains to be had. I've gotten near freebies at Victoria's Secret, CVS and more. She is brilliant at bargain shopping. She has encouraged me to wonder...
I need to save money on groceries!
We have Aldis, Hy Vee, Price Chopper, Wal Mart and Target grocery options here. I typically go to Aldis for most of my stuff (ham and beans dinner for 5 for just $4, pork chops for $5 a 6 pack, packaged boneless chicken breasts for $4.99, spices, oils, soups and additives for 1/3 less than at the grocery chains). I do a LOT of shopping at Aldi's.
I tend to avoid Price Chopper. It's a lot more convenient, but also a lot more expensive. Meat is pretty expensive here, but the off brand items are kind of decently priced. Frozen vegetables are usually around $.69 a bag if I shop carefully. I tend to stock up then.
I use Hy Vee a lot. They have my organic milk (Oberweiss). Although they don't have a discount card program, the prices are really decent. Their produce is fresh, often organic, and delicious.
I shop Wal Mart, although it really stresses me out. Their Boca burgers are cheaper here, and sometimes, you can get a good deal on meat.
Target groceries are pretty spendy, but if you shop the clearance end caps, you can get non-perishables at a decent price.
I do check Wednesday ads.
Now, I am looking into couponing. I do not get the Sunday paper. It's out of budget now, and I can read the articles for free online. I've heard of couponbug and other coupon sites, but I hesitate downloading spyware to my computer. I know there are tricks and tips out there. I just need to find them.
So here's a challenge...
WHAT ARE YOUR BEST GROCERY SHOPPING TIPS? WHAT WORKS FOR YOU?
I look forward to learning!

I definitely shop at Aldi's in order to save some money on groceries. The majority of groceries probably come from Kroger, especially when they are offering double coupons there! It's a great way to save and I love Kroger's selection of meats and cheeses.
