Back to school
Didn't I just write a post about summer scheduling? Now look! School starts in just 2 days. Are you ready? I think we are!
My kids are in 3rd and 5th grade, in the elementary school. My daughter is in 8th grade, in the junior high. There is a 2 hour difference in their schedules. To add more batter to the mix, I am substitute teaching this year, which may cause a bit of organizational turmoil if I'm not uber organized.
Activities so far this year include walking club in the mornings for the boys, Student Council for Emily, cross country after school for Emily, dance for all of us, and piano lessons on Tuesday after school for Matt. This could prove to be challenging, but I have no doubt we'll find a way to work through the obstacles.
Our first challenge is that Matt has piano the first day of school. We're going to do a dry run, where he and Mikey walk from the bus stop to the corner of our street. Matt will then go right, to the college, and Mikey will go left, home, where Emily will HOPEFULLY be off cross country practice, and be waiting for him.
Another thing we may do, depending on the length of cross country, is have Emily pick up the boys from school some days. On other days, she wants a motorized scooter to go to school. We live about 6 blocks from school. I'm iffy on this, but everyone else, Darren, family, friends, including educators, think it's a good idea.
As for me, I have bags for each level of school, with resources I will need to sub. We have an online sub system, so I may often know ahead of time if I'll be working the next day. Otherwise, I have a quick lunch ready in the fridge, and clean and ironed clothes. It can take me 25 minutes to go from jammies to out the door.
Any hints and suggestions are helpful!

You're bringing back some good memories here! I remember always growing my hair out in the summer, just to have my mom force me to get a haircut the week before school started back up. I never understood why she wouldn't let me grow it long, but it's a fond memory I have of my mom and of being that age. You made me smile
